CHIEF OF POLICE – ALDEN POLICE DEPARTMENT
The City of Alden, MN is seeking applicants for a Chief of Police, working 30 to 40 hours per week. Benefits are pro-rated for those interested in a 30 hour only work week.  Applicants must be POST licensed or POST eligible to be licensed by the time of appointment, must pass a pre-employment background check, psychological, physical exam and must have a valid driver’s license. Applicants must be flexible to working varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends. Pay, benefits and perks are negotiable.

Alden is a small city with a population of 580, located on I-90, 10 miles west of Albert Lea. The city is looking for an individual who is a self-starter, energetic, community oriented, and has good communication skills.  The individual will be responsible for protecting the lives and property of the citizens of Alden, enforcing laws and ordinances, conducting investigations, and maintaining public order.

Job Description

FULL-TIME PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT POSITION: The City of Alden is accepting applications for a full-time Public Works Superintendent. This position performs skilled maintenance work involving the operations of the Public Works Department including streets, water, storm sewer, wastewater, parks and zoning operations; attends Council meetings; and performs other related duties as required. The Superintendent also performs general and technical supervision over the department staff.
Minimum qualifications include a high-school diploma or GED; a valid Class B Minnesota driver’s license, or the ability to obtain within 30 days; Class C water and Class D wastewater license, or the ability to obtain; and the ability to report to an emergency call within 30 minutes. Starting Wage is $29.00 - $35.00 per hour, based on certifications, plus benefits.
